Neglected Child

I am trying not to neglect you, dear blog.

My brothers are staying with me this week and I am amazed with their appetites. I don’t know how my mother has coped over the past year (she hasn’t been working). I keep making these huge meals and within minutes they are gone. I”m not sure if I can attribute that to their ages (10 and 17), or if they just haven’t had a full meal in so long that they feel the need to stock up while they can. It pains me to be so far away from them. Life will get better; I promise them, but I don’t really know if that will be true.

Sometimes all one can do is hope…

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.
