New Music

I finished the third season of Weeds last week. Mostly, I was disappointed with the season. I’ve always enjoyed the dark humor of the show, but now it seems that the humor has disappeared and darkness has overtaken the entire plot. I’ll still keep watching, though. Mary Louise Parker is a brilliant actress.

One standout of the season is the soundtrack. A couple favorites are “Keepsake” by State Radio and “Rocky Spine” by Great Lake Swimmers. The lyrics are so poetic.

Here’s a little excerpt of the lyrics from “Rocky Spine”:

The mountains said I could find you here
They whispered the snow and the leaves in my ear
I traced my finger along your trails
Your body was the map, I was lost in it

Floating over your rocky spine
The glaciers made you, and now you’re mine

Good eh?

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.
