Adventures in Pumpkin Carving

One comment about today: COLD!

Last Saturday, AG and I went to Pizzeria Uno’s in Platteville, WI. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Uno’s, the original restaurant is in Chicago, and they are famous for their deep dish pizzas. My two slices were a fantastic splurge of my Weight Watchers points.

Later that evening, we decided to carve pumpkins. In my whimsy, I managed to drop my pumpkin on AG’s front step. The stem broke and the pumpkin made a fabulous “thwack” sound on the cement.

My pumpkin was cracked and oozing, so I made my pitiful apologies. Please ignore the Wal-Mart bags. I never shop there. I swear. 🙂

Because of my pumpkin’s accident, I carved it sideways instead of upright. This proved to be a little difficult due to the wobbling.
Below is my reaction to AG taking my picture without my consent.

Here are the finished pumpkins. AG’s is the more traditional one on the right. Mine is the one that looks a little high on the left.

Ooh spooky…

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.
