Isabella’s Tonight

I’m reading at Isabella’s tonight at the Dubuque Area Writers Guild “Final Farewell to Isabella’s” event. I’m nervous, but also excited. It has been so long since I’ve read anything. I think my desire to create is finally taking over my fear of rejection. I will miss that place. Drinking there is like drinking in your friend’s basement in high school. I love it. I am reading a piece of microfiction and a eulogy to the bar.

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.

    Good luck! You’ll be great.

(and I always drink bourbon before I read; it calms the nerves and clears the throat)

I was on the news last night, sort of. I was behind the bar. Go figure!

I saw! The bar looked awesome; I’m sorry it died.
