Step away from the pastry…

Snow in Dubuque? No problem.

Earthquake in Dubuque? I’m cool

A pile of donuts? My downfall.

Today I have managed to spill tea down my blouse and smear powdered sugar all over my black slacks. In short I’ve been buzzing around like a crazed, caffeinated sugar-fiend. My co-workers look scared.

A fantastic long weekend as hostess, one day of working at home has passed. and now I am back in my cube, stress-eating like mad.

It is a busy time in the cube-jungle and I’m jumping into the donuts face-first. Don’t try to stop me.

Okay, somebody please staple the ass of my pants to my chair. RIGHT. NOW.

On a lighter note, I’ve been listening to ADELE’s 19 album on a loop all day. I’m in love with her voice. “Whiskey-soaked” is how I’ve heard it described. Wonderful. Whiskey-soaked is sounding pretty good right now.

As mentioned in an earlier post, tonight is the Dubuque initiation ceremony of my co-worker JP. It will be an evening of eating turkey and dressing sandwiches, playing Euchre, and howling at the frigid February moon. It feels odd to go from being the newbie three years ago to the seasoned Dubuquer helping with the initiation of yet another newbie.

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.

I really want a turkey and dressig sandwich. Also, being whiskey-soaked sounds pretty good, too.
