Simplify, simplify, simplify…

I sit in my cube today and I feel that I am in a hell of my own making.

My allergy medicine is now out of my life, but unfortunately it is not going down without fight. I am like a child with the chicken pox, only there are no pox. As I predicted, I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms courtesy of my dependency on Zyrtec. Like that of a drug addict, my skin is absolutely crawling.

Good times, good times.

This feeling is supposed to go away in two weeks and I can’t wait. I’m also excited by the prospect of no longer taxing my kidneys with chemicals and reducing my impact on the environment.

On a related note, here is how I plan to reduce my environmental impact in April:

*Reduce my meat intake to once or twice a week (I try to stick to locally raised and organic whenever possible).

*Make my own cleaning products using non-toxic materials

*Tune up my bike and start riding to work every day.

*Eradicate paper towels and Kleenex from my apartment. Cotton hand towels and handkerchiefs will replace them.

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.
