Hey Jackhole Condo, You’re Blocking My View!

My apartment has lost some of its appeal in the past few weeks and for that I am sad. Gone is my sweeping view of the Mississippi River all because of a huge luxury condo being built at the end of my once peaceful street.

As a result, I’m left feeling weirdly closed in and restless. It is growing more and more apparent that I am outgrowing the cozy space that I have called home for the past three-and-a-half years.

I think I will move soon.

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.

good word choice – peaceful it will no longer be. I sure hope they studied parking availability and the number of cars those tiny streets can bear….especially in the winter. Maybe they will be carless condos for people who really want to be sustainable and earn that view 🙂
I’m game for a protest whenever you are.

Sorry to hear that. I’ve been watching the progress of a massive 5 story double-turreted structure being built on a bluff above downtown. I wonder it is the same one that is blocking your view? It looks like it will mesh right in with the “Victorian Ladies” on the bluff, but I’m sure it’s a claustrophobic eyesore for those whose prior scenic view it blocked.
