February Blahs

As it turns out, the learning curve involved with moving and starting a new job is quite steep. Every day I have this nagging voice in the back of my head saying…You should unpack that, you should put up curtains, you should catch up on your new projects, you should take better care of yourself, you should save money, you should get a new car, you should keep in closer contact with your friends.

This voice is driving me to the brink of insanity. Don’t worry; this insanity isn’t the violent type, but it might be the type where N will find me passed out in the bathtub with an empty tub of Ben & Jerry’s and a nervous twitch.

So, if you’re wondering, it’s been a rough few weeks. I caught the flu, we endured a massive blizzard that dumped two feet of snow, I traveled for work, and my poor, poor Ford Taurus took a dive into car junkdom. Those events threw off my schedule; therefore, I’ve been a cranky jack-hole and a worthy adversary to anyone who crosses my path.

Though, my travel for work was at a beautiful locale…

Huntington Beach, CA

Perhaps it is the stark cold of February or perhaps it is just a busier time for work, but this time of year is always a bit tough on my soul (see Suck It, February from last year). On a more positive note, between my lovely new book club and becoming entranced with the Harry Potter series, I am veraciously reading again.

That is a great feeling.

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.
