Human Alarm Clock

McFad (That’s the code name for my dude now) is definitely more of a morning person than me. Even when he’s tired he still has this giant disarming grin on his face and when I ignore my alarm clock and try to sleep in he begins to chime:

“It’s seven-oh-oh!”

Then, a bit later…

“It’s seven-oh-five!”

“It’s seven-one-one!”

If I persist with my sleeping nonsense, I’ll hear his feet pawing against the floor and I know I will not be able to cling to my slumber much longer.

He charges, belly-flops next to me, and puts his nose to mine.

“WHY ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING?”

I could be annoyed with this routine, but quite honestly, it’s an amazing feeling to have someone in my life who is so eager to spend another waking day with me….

About Restless Cube Dweller

Most of my adult life has been defined finding homes in unconventional places, and learning to interact positively with others. I've lived in the middle of nowhere, in small cities, in large cities, in the suburbs, and now in Dubuque, Iowa. This blog represents my musings about growing up, moving on, finding love, and eating well in the suburbs and beyond.
